Manga artist Uoto will hold his first solo exhibition, UO10., celebrating the 10th anniversary of his debut.
The exhibition will run from December 19, 2026, to February 23, 2027, at Yurakucho Museum in Tokyo. Centered around Uoto’s major works, including The 100M, Chi: Chikyū no Undō ni Tsuite*, and Welcome to FACT Tokyo S District, 2nd Branch*, the exhibition will look back on his creative work over the past 10 years.
What makes this exhibition different from a typical manga exhibition that focuses only on finished pages is its emphasis on the creative process behind each work. Visitors will be able to take a closer look at Uoto’s process through storyboards, original artwork, early concepts, and more.
The most interesting part is that Uoto’s actual workspace will be set up inside the exhibition venue. He plans to work on a new serialized manga on-site throughout the exhibition, and the work created during that process will also be displayed as part of the exhibition. In other words, visitors will be able to look back at his past work while also seeing a new work come to life.
Uoto made his serialization debut with The 100M in 2018 before gaining wider recognition through Chi: Chikyū no Undō ni Tsuite. Chi drew attention for its exploration of science, belief, and humanity’s relentless pursuit of knowledge, and won the Manga Grand Prize at the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2022.
*UO10.* will be an exhibition that looks back on Uoto’s past 10 years while also offering a glimpse into his future work. In particular, the fact that he will create a new manga inside the exhibition venue stands out, as it allows visitors to get closer to Uoto’s creative process in the present rather than simply viewing already completed works.
The exhibition will be open from 10 AM to 8 PM, with extended hours until 9 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. The exhibition will be closed on January 1, 2027. Details about tickets and exhibition merchandise will be announced in October 2026.
