sacai is introducing a new icon bag.
The “Lock Bag” is a new design that adds an architectural structure and transformable functionality to a familiar bag silhouette.
It will be released on August 28 through sacai’s official stores and select retailers.
The bag is priced at ¥429,000.

The bag also reflects sacai’s long-standing design philosophy of “Reimagining Convention.”
Combining different materials and functions to transform familiar items into new forms has long been one of sacai’s core design languages.

The key feature of the bag is “Lock,” just as its name suggests. sacai took inspiration from the structure of a typical door lock as the starting point for the design.
Sliding the hardware placed on the side of the bag changes its shape, creating new space inside in the process.
Rather than simply adding a decorative element, the movement of the lock itself is connected to the structure of the bag.

The exterior is relatively understated, but its defining feature is that the silhouette changes with movement.
Rather than treating the bag as a fixed form, sacai approaches it as an object whose shape and character change with the wearer’s movements.

The bag comes in two color and material options: black grained leather and brown suede leather.
Both share the same structure, but the completely different textures give each model a distinct feel. Both versions are available in one size and are priced at ¥429,000 (including tax).

The Lock Bag is being introduced as more than just an accessory for the new season, but as the starting point for a new icon bag that sacai plans to develop going forward.
Its aim to become an everyday companion that grows more personal and meaningful the longer you use it also sets it apart from logo-driven luxury bags.
