Jake Jepson is a Sydney-based producer, songwriter, and vocalist.
Musically, he centers his sound around R&B and pop while also incorporating indie pop, ambient, and more experimental sounds.
The Australian music platform triple j Unearthed also categorizes his music under Acoustic, R&B, and Pop.

What’s interesting is where his musical journey began.
Jepson said that around the age of 12 or 13, he discovered the SoundCloud rap scene, which was rapidly growing at the time, through Spotify, and was influenced by artists such as PARTYNEXTDOOR, Don Toliver, Bryson Tiller, and Brent Faiyaz.
Then, at 14, after seeing his friends making beats at school, he began learning FL Studio himself.

The way he describes his own music is also interesting.
Rather than simply defining it as R&B, he explains that he blends different genres by layering R&B vocals and harmonies over indie pop guitar loops, or combining live piano with heavily processed Auto-Tuned vocals and synths.

Jake Jepson’s work as a producer is also an important part of his identity. He produces music not only for himself but also for other artists, and he was credited as both a songwriter and producer on Russ’s 2025 track “Cyclone.”
