Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will be released exclusively on Netflix on October 20, 2026. Set in the same Night City as the original, the series will tell a standalone story centered on a new cast of characters.

It’s not a Season 2 that continues the story of David and Lucy from the previous series, but it will expand the world of Edgerunners with a new story and new music.

The anime will once again be produced by TRIGGER.
Kai Ikarashi, who also worked on the previous series, will direct, while Ichigo Kanno, who worked on Promare and the previous Edgerunners, joins as the lead character designer.
Bartosz Sztybor, who led the story of the previous series, also returns. This time, he will serve as showrunner, story writer, and producer, with Masahiko Otsuka also joining the production.
The music also hints at a new direction.
The official second teaser features an original score by Tsuneo Imahori, along with “You Can’t Run From Me” by Rico Nasty.
Since the previous series used its music to strongly imprint the emotions of David and Night City, the soundtrack this time is also expected to be an important element in shaping the atmosphere of the series.
